FOR
PROFESSIONAL ENTREPRENEURS WITH DISABILITIES
This section of the UKSEABLE web site is for those entrepreneurs
who
have disabilities and who offer their services to support other
entrepreneurs who also have disabilities. The intention is
that
these professionals will have a greater understanding of
disability and
business ownership and will therefore be able to provide more
effective
and useful support to other disabled business owners because of
that
greater understanding.
- The services which these professionals offer
may
include
- assessment of support needs
- consultancy regarding minimizing the impact
of
disability on a business
- training in the use of adaptive technology
and
- business mentoring and coaching in the
relevant
disability context.
It is important to note that these professionals will not
deliver their
services as volunteers. Instead they will expect always to
be
paid the going rate for their services. Where external
funding
resources are required, they will share ideas on possible
sources of
such funding; this will not be restricted to the Jobcentre
Plus
Access to Work scheme.
In the first instance there will be an email group discussion
forum
where these professionals will be able to discuss issues.
This
group, called UKSEPRO, is open to disabled entrepreneurs
offering the
above and related services. To find out more about the
UKSEPRO
email group and how to join it please click here.
Other pages relating to professional entrepreneurs with
disabilities
will be added to this section of the UKSEABLE web site as they
are
identified.
